The Real Ranch Residency was a welcoming and supportive environment to invite research, exploration, and production of dance performance.  From the comfortable and inclusive living space to the beautiful dance studio and streamlined access to technology, this residency helped us maximize our creative work flow. In addition, the Isadora training sessions advanced our vision and production of the next phase of our artwork.

We came to the Real Ranch Residency to build visual vocabulary for a collaboration between an experimental filmmaker and a performance group interested in ritual and presence. Dawn’s expertise in Isadora and mediated performance was a great resource, and the tone she established created an easy permission in the work. Having access to a studio and a range of equipment let us try out a whole mess of ideas and learn quickly what we actually needed, technically and artistically.
